Nature meets Contemporary Architecture
The Habitat sits on the fringe of Penang Hill’s virgin jungle reserve area, which is part of Malaysia’s prehistoric rainforests that are about 130-million years old.
Thus, in architecture and the interior designing of The Habitat Shop, Archiplan’s approach is to preserve this invaluable gift from Mother Nature – The Shop is architected and built around the forest’s trees. It is reminiscent of a modern-day tree-house – the end-result is a harmonious symmetry in contemporary architecture and nature; display shelves are built from natural materials that keeps in line with the overall ‘nature’ concept. Lighting fixtures along the ceiling creates a mimicry of natural lighting from above.
